Things I Hate About You

I hate it when you don't come on time...but i hate you more when you arrive with flowers in your hand....

I hate it when you don't call when you said you would...but i hate you more when you answer my call with "I love you".

I hate it when you are not around...but i hate you more when all those times we are not together, you always tell me how much you miss me.

I hate it when you forget our anniversary....but i hate you more when I get a surprise gift when I get home.

I hate it when we fight over small things...but i hate it more when you're always the first one to say you are sorry.

I hate it when you go to your basketball game instead of watching a movie with me...i hate it more when I see our special day on your jersey.

I hate it when you get mad..i hate it more when you get mad at people being rude to me.

I hate it when you drink...i hate it more when you drink to celebrate my achievement.

I hate it when you go home late...i hate it more when you tell me that you are on your way to where I live.

I hate it when you leave me alone in a party...i hate it more when you tell me that you just want to stare at me from afar.

I hate it when you let me eat so much...i hate it more when you say that no matter how I look, I will always be sexy to you.

I hate it when you lie...i hate it more when you tell me that you just don't want to argue with me.

But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you,

not even close…

not even a little bit…

not even at all. (poem from "10 things I hate About You" movie)

HOW TO HAVE A GUY IN 10 WAYS (a non-expert advice from a girl who’s been dating since she was 15 years old)

Note: this blog was written because of 2 reasons:I was at home on a Saturday night and I got really bored. Just watched " How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days".

1.       Basketball knowledge

Nothing is hotter for a guy than a girl who talks basketball. Guys dig chicks who can understand what the hell is going on in an NBA/PBA/NCAA/UAAP game. So, pick a winning team and don’t hesitate cheering for them.

2.       Action Films

Say goodbye to happily-ever-after movies. If you want to have a fantastic date with a guy, choose a film where men beat up each other and women wear skimpy clothes. Don’t worry; he’ll give in to the chick flick next time.

3.       Shopping...for stuff EXCEPT shoes

Men loves shopping too, except, they usually buy from a car, gadget or tools shop. Just go along with him and ask questions about the stuff he’s buying. Taking notice of what he’s interested with will make him more interested with you too.

4.       One of the Boys

Drink beer. Learn Poker. Pig out.

5.       Give your stilettos a rest (for awhile)

Guys love seeing a girl in sneakers or flip-flops as much as they love wearing the same thing too.

6.       Stay away from Britney Spears.

If you and your guy share a music gadget, try downloading more of the alternative-pop-rock genre. Dance music that will make them imagine you dancing would be a good playlist too.

7.       Boys Night Out

Give him 24 hours of just being around his friends. Let him do guy stuff. It will let him miss you more.

8.       Name calling

Although some guys find it sweet that a girl address them as HUN, BABY, SWEETIE, LOVES, DARLING and all that, do not call him anything unless he wants it.

9.       Dress Well

Know what to wear on the right occasion. Guys like to flaunt the girls they are dating. So be worthy of being flaunted.

10.   Smell Good

You want to make him to think of you whenever he smells your scent. So always smell good so that he gets hooked on you.

Shopping Havens

I love shopping! I guess a lot of women agree that shopping is our own therapy. We shop because we feel sad or angry. We shop to reward ourselves for a job well done. We shop because we got our bonuses. We shop because there's a big S-A-L-E posted outside the store's window. We shop. period.

So, as a certified shopaholic (and a shoeaholic as well), I would like to recommend the following shopping havens that are budget friendly, safe and convenient.

GREENHILLS

This includes the V-mall, Shopsville and Promenade.

If you are a gadget freak, you are in the right place. They have everything. Sold new or 2nd hand. Gadgets from China to Germany. You name it, they got it. You just need to find a friendly sales person and cut a good deal. But beware, sometimes, you might buy a GSM (galing sa magnanakaw) item. You might get surprised when all of a sudden, your phone gets blocked by NTC. Just make sure you check everything before you purchase.

Signature items for sale. You go to mall to find the original thing and then go out to the tiangges and find the exact replica. Overruns, Class A, AA, AAA bags, watches, clothes and shoes. Of course a lot of people would think that buying the fake items would save them money. Like they always say: "nasa nagdadala lang yan". Well, thats true. But then again, its still fake. So dont go bragging about it. If you cant afford the real thing, dont buy the replica. Save your money and buy the original or else, just buy the local brands. Its affordable, authentic and you are helping our economy.

Tiangge. I love the tiangge. If you have P1,000.00, you would be able to purchase a whole outfit. I swear! Well, you have to be resourceful and at the same time experimetal with fashion. A tank top (P150.00) + a maong shorts (P250.00) + baby doll shoes (P350.00) = very casual outfit for only P750.00! You have P250.00 left to buy yourself a set of earrings and bangles. See! What more can you buy if you have lots of cash in your wallet?

DAPITAN

Suki Market. Yup, its literally a market. If you want baskets of California Maki or some puto, this is the place to buy them. So the next time you are going to a pot-luck party, you know what to bring.

Dapitan Arcade. You want your house look like a home without spending much? Go buy your stuff here. Everything, and i mean everything is cheap. Incredibly cheap! But if you put everything together, you'll never guess how much you saved instead of buying them from the mall. Christmas season is when they get very crowded. Its because of the Santas and The Nativity and the Christmas Trees are overflowing. Christmas decorations in all sizes, shapes, and colors. But no matter how crowded it is, you'll go home happy and satisfied with your purchases.

MANDALUYONG

Golden Weaves Fabric Depot. This is where you can buy very affordable pillows (and curtains and some other stuff). My boyfriend's sister hired an interior designer and she took us there. Instantly, I was smiling. Pillows as low as P50.00, hotdog pillows for P175.00 and big pillows for P250.00. Since everything is on sale (like, everyday!), it would be a sin not to hoard. With the convenient parking and very friendly (and good looking) owner, what more can you ask for? My friends are so gonna be getting something soft this Christmas! hahaha! oh, grow up! Adults dont need to get surprise gifts!

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT

Duty Free. You don't need a passport or be a Balikbayan to be able to access the store. To the local people in Olonggapo, this is their grocery (sosyal!). The last time we went there with my friends, we were able to buy Lacoste shirts, Havaianas and Nike shoes 50% off the original price. If I compare it to the sale items here in Manila, its still cheaper there by a hundred bucks or more. Plus they have many designs and sizes available, unlike some other depots.

The best part is, you are in Subic.

RIVERBANKS

Looking for a depot? All the outlet stores you are looking for is in one roof. So if you want to save some money and buy nice stuff for yourself, your family or your friends, come by Marikina anytime. As we speak, the Sapatos Festival is on going..meaning, more discounts on shoes!

Here are the outlet stores:

  • Attitudes
  • Bizaare
  • Bench
  • BNY Jeans
  • Folded & Hung
  • Golden Fortune Bag Factory Outlet
  • Guess
  • Hammerhead Jeans & Shirts
  • Mossimo
  • NIKE Outlet Store
  • Reva
  • RRJ & Mr. Lee Factory Outlet
  • Sports Basic Airwalk
  • World Balance

  • There are more places to shop. Depending on your location...and taste...and patience. A true shopaholic knows how to bargain and a certified shoppingera always get the value for her/ his money.

    Making it through the rain...

“ When a relationship dies do we ever really give up the ghost or are we forever haunted by the spirits of relationships past?”

2 years ago, I went through the most difficult time of my life. I had my very first major (major) broken heart. I cried every night and stayed in bed the whole day. I was sad every single day. I was depressed every single second. Every breath turned into a sob. I was devastated.

Then numbness came. I wasn't feeling anything anymore. I didn't care if I didn't washed my hair or changed my clothes. I didn't want to eat. I didn't want to talk to anyone. I watched TV but did not understood anything. I read books but never finished even the 1st chapter. I was just in my room, in bed, staring at the ceiling and feeling nothing.

Then a friend texted me something that changed my life. "Stop loving someone who takes you for granted and makes you feel like you are worthless." And I did. I stopped loving him. I got out of bed, took a bath, changed to a nice dress, put on my make-up, wore my high heeled shoes and went out with my girl friends. And for the first time, in months, I was feeling better. I was out, having the grandest time and meeting new people. Then it hit me...Oh my gosh, I am back! The me that I lost when I was in that unhealthy relationship was finally found. I missed me.

I believe that if a person experience pain and heart ache because of losing a loved one can only survive because of the people he/she is surrounded with. I was very lucky that my family were all there to make sure I was being taken care of. They gave me the space and time to get through the pain without asking me to do what they expected me to do. My friends, who always lend their ears to listen to my whining, complaining and crying. They were always there to give me the best advise and tells me all those funny stories that would always make me laugh. These people kept me sane. They are the ones who showed me how important life is. They held my hand while I get back on my feet. They were my pillars of strength.

Now that I have fully moved on, I am paying it forward. Trying to help my friends that are going through the same thing I did. I always tell them to go through the pain. Cry it out, get mad, get depressed, stay away from everyone and hate the person who made you feel that way. Then accept the fact that he/she may never come back again and then move on with your life. The love will always be there and sometimes you will miss that person, but that's ok, that's just being human. Cherish all the good memories no matter how bad the relationship ended. These memories will be a validation that YOU are the best he/she ever had.

" No matter who broke your heart, or how long it takes to heal, you’ll never get through it without your friends."
